It all started in 1955, in a little brick building on Western Avenue in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After graduating with a degree in furniture design from the University of Oklahoma, the late Ron Thomson gave himself fully to his work - designing yachts, residential homes, offices, corporate jets, private buses, and helicopters. Ron had a fierce passion for interior design and loved sharing his talents with the community. Serving as a founding member of the Oklahoma Chapter of the Association of Interior Designers, the forerunner of the American Society of Interior Designers, Ron was able to assist young designers and cultivate the region’s design community.
Following in his father's footsteps, Cam Thomson studied interior design at the University of Oklahoma. He served as Ron's sole apprentice for 6 years, and together he and his father were able to learn and thrive as designers. With years of family wisdom in their hands, the duo established Thomson + Thomson Designs. In 1977, holding a Master of Interior from the University of Central Oklahoma, Dencie joined the team as their intern. Shortly after, Cam and Dencie fell in love, married, and now have 4 remarkable children - two of which are carrying the family torch as partners at the firm. Cody and Ashford both graduated from Savannah College of Art & Design in Georgia with degrees in interior design, photography, and architecture.
Principal Designer, Cam Thomson, is a Professional Member of the American Society of Interior Designers.
